It’s Cookie Baking Time!

Standard

When I was a kid, my mom made sugar cookies. She’d cut them into bell shapes, star shapes, Christmas trees, snowmen, angels and reindeer. With the leftover dough, she’d form wreaths and candy canes. My brother, sister and I then decorated them with white, pink and maple-flavored frosting, and finished them off with sprinkles, walnuts and cherries. We’d compete to see who could make the prettiest cookie. But the best part was licking the frosting spoon and scraping the bowl clean.

If you’re looking for recipes to bake cookies to bring to cookie exchanges and holiday parties, check out the new feature on my website – Cookie Monkey Books – where you’ll find a section of my “store” devoted to cookie cookbooks. Click here and start baking!
